FOR A CALM, CONFIDENT AND EMPOWERED BIRTH

How we experience childbirth is important, and beginning motherhood after a positive and empowered birth experience gives us confidence, as women and as mothers. Hypnobirthing is a wonderful way to prepare your mind and body for your baby's birth. As you put your fears aside, you'll regain confidence in your body and in the birth process, so you are able to give birth from a place of trust and confidence, rather than a place of tension and fear. My own experiences in the births of my three children taught me the enormous power of the mind in childbirth. You can read my birth stories here.

We don't need to prepare for a perfect birth or a pain-free birth (although your birth may well feel perfect to you, and you may experience deep sensations that aren't pain). What we can prepare for is to not to resist labour with our own bodies, but to let it flow and be the birth that it is meant to be. Labour can be fast or slow, straightforward or with complications, and much of this is beyond our control. However, there are many things that we can control. We can decide where we give birth and who accompanies us. And, we can learn to control our thoughts around childbirth so that they don't become an obstacle.

Hypnobirthing gives us the tools and confidence to control the things that we can control and to accept the things we can't. This course will provide you with a deep understanding of labour, help you to release any fears or anxieties that could cause tension and pain during labour, and equip you and your birth partner with the tools you need for a calm, confident and empowered birth.

YOU WILL LEARN:

How to eliminate fears and replace negative programming around childbirth with confidence and calm.

How you and your birth partner can create a calm and relaxed birthing space, free from stress and tension.

How to accept and welcome the enormous power of the uterine muscles rather than fear it.

The importance of the partner's role in the birth and how he/she can have a positive influence.

The physiology of labour and the interplay of hormones.

Gentle techniques that allow you to breathe your baby down rather than using forced pushing.

Deep relaxation techniques to help you eliminate the Fear-Tension-Pain cycle.

How to choose where to give birth and prepare your birth plan.
